  1. Yin/Yang Questions.

Being still and listening seems like a passive yin approach. The only time I get restful silence, these days, is when I am in motion. At the same time, I have an aversion to being active. I'm a lazy person. I like to dream, but I've been doing too little for too long. I do like your advice though. It reminds me of something, someone said: that to balance you focus on the center not on the counterweight point. Thank you for the kind replies.
  2. I get the feeling I am generally off-balance towards the Yin principle. What are some ways of directly approaching this? What I mean is; how can I bring more yang into my life? Right now I'm trying to deal with it, mainly, by getting more exercise. Sometimes, while jogging, I get a feeling for, what I believe is, the yang principle. An extroverted, active, positive, vibe. After sensing it, I see how much my life is lacking and wanting it. Also, on a related note, I sometimes feel that these two principles are very disharmonious in me. I see them as separate, and in conflict with one another. Like two armies, standing for opposite causes, clashing. It's unsettling because it makes me feel like I have to pick a side. My understanding of Yin/Yang is murky at best. I may be thinking of this the wrong way. Any insights on this would be appreciated.
  3. Hi

Hi, I registered here with hopes of finding out more about personal Taoist practices and philosophies. I primarily try to follow the eightfold path of Buddhism, but I am interested in Tao philosophy insofar as it deals with techniques for achieving personal balance.
