Thoughts on God ?

God blew it!

He really blew it !

According to Kurt Vonnegut ... and I agree with him.

What God did: His Son comes to earth and not only does he say I am Gods son, he says we all are.

Then a bunch of oppressors go ; "Bullshit ! And nail him to a cross."

Gods son calls out " Father ... why have you forsaken me? "

.......

Nothing ..... sweet fuck all .... bupkis <_<

What god should have done;

< Thunder and lightening , takes Jesus off cross, heals him, turns to soldiers and Herod >

"Who has been messing around and being oppressive to my Kids."

And whupped some arse ! After that, no one would have been game to try it on the seemingly meek and oppressed again.

- yep, God blew it.

- Reminds me of a story from my brother in law, he grew up in a rich family in a oretty radical time and country in South America , went to an expensive Catholic School. he is very vocal about child molestation in the church here and cannot understand how we let it happen.

"It didnt happen at my Catholic church or school" he told me. " We had a weird and suspect teacher that also used to cane us too much, we hated him. One day he canned the wrong kid and made an improper suggestion to him ( 'wrong' because his father was high up in the ruling military).

Next day dad comes to school with two aids ... all in uniform, they walk into the class, in front of the kids. General Daddy asks the teacher if he is the one been canning the children. Then he gets the cane and gives the teacher 6 of the best in front of the kids. Then he asks the teacher if he has his own children. No he doesnt. Then he asks him if he wants to have children in the future. The teacher says maybe. So the aids grab his arms and hold them out. The other hods the cane near the teachers genitals, lifts his arm up for a hard wack but then lowers it to the teachers chin.

"If I ever hear of you abusing any of these children, we come back, and I cane you very hard and a lot ... down there ... and you never have children."

"No , we dont allow children to be molested in my country." my bBother in Law finished with.

I find it discouraging the things we do in the name of God.

I find it even more discouraging the things people of God, whatever their religion, do to others.

People should not be punished for their sexual attractions or preferances. But I can't help but feel if our society and its religions were truly healthy, for lack of a better word, there would be no molestation, rape, or same sex relationships. I think these are all products of mankind at this point in their development/evolution. Everything we call a crime, and everything we fight to have the right to do, from abortion to rasing kids in an unbalanced, same sex parental relationship - it is all a byproduct of our society, in my opinion.

I feel, I think, that if mankind developed and evolved spiritually all this stuff would just disappear. These diseases, emotional, mental and physical, that we have been passing down to our childen for the last few thosuand years will die out. In that world I see mankind living hamroniously with themselves, each other, their planet, and their collective, universal idea of whatever force created/developed/evolved them. However mankind's views develop as the race grows spiritually.

I listen to Alan Watts and I begin to see things a little more clearly. The "porcelin" VS "automatic" ideas of the universe, ingrained in our speech patterms for as long as man has had speech. I get discouraged again, because the "New Thought" teachers I love, like Wayne Dyer, are obviously working from the flawed automatic model. The universe as some sort of machine.

If Christians and other O.R. don't have it right, and the "New Thought" people don't have it right, how in the hell do I figure out how to interact and work with the energy of creation to create the life I want for myself and manifest the things I want for myself, and is this even something I can do? If I can't in any way cause the life I want to happen and bring the things I want into that life, then what the fuck is the point in living? That means my life is stuck on some pre-programmed course that can not be affected by me in any way. At least I had hope with the "New Thought" teachings like E-Squared!

God didn't mess up. Man did. Man's idea of God has been and probably is, for the most part, flawed. Maybe some understand the Truth. I am not, and won't claim to be, one of them. Maybe there is no God, or Source, as I refer to God now. Maybe there is no originating energy. Or maybe there is no creator, but there is still an energy that connects all of us and makes us one. I don't know, and I wish I understood, had an experience of, the Truth.

If life is a play I fogot my lines and I hope someone off-stage reads them to me. If life is a dance I came in with two left feet. In either case, someone please teach me how to act or dance so I can stop stumbling around over here!

This sucks! Now I am even more depressed than I was...

Two rabbis Solly and Abe chatting at the Wailing Wall.

Solly: " Why the long face Abe?"

Abe: " My oldest boy is home from university in America and tells me he's a Christian already."

Solly: " Same here with my boy Shmuley. I pay for him a gap year, he comes home and tells his mother that he's a Baptist now. She hasn't stopped crying yet."

Right then a bolt of lighting hits the Wailing Wall and God's voice booms from the heavens...

" Oy vey! Me also. My son goes for a holiday in Israel next thing HE'S COME HOME TELLING ME THAT HE'S A CHRISTIAN!"

One day Moses and Jesus were playing golf. They were at the tee of a beautiful par 3, with a lake right in the middle of the fairway. Moses selects a 5 iron, tees-up his ball and swings. His ball sails very high and lands in the middle of the lake. He mutters to himself and tees-up a second ball, this time selecting a 4 iron. This shot was perfect; landing right in the middle of the green.

Jesus pauses for a moment to ponder his club selection. "Hmmmm..... Arnold Palmer would use this," he says as he picks up a 5 iron.

"But, Jesus. My 5 iron shot ended up in the lake. You should use a 4 iron!"

"Nope. Arnie would use a 5," insisted Jesus.

So, Jesus swings hard and alas his shot ends up in the middle of the lake too. Jesus strolls over to the lake and walks out on the water to retrieve his ball. As Jesus is walking on the water trying to locate his ball a foursome comes up to the tee, sees a man walking on the water and one of them exclaims, "Who does he think he is? Jesus Christ?"

"No," explains Moses, "He is Jesus Christ. He thinks he's Arnold Palmer."

Wouldn't it be nice to see god? How else would we free ourselves from all the misinformation pounded into our culture over time? God is simply a name to a phenomenon. And even more complex, a system used for political gain.

No matter how hard you think about it, or try to deduce a logical explanation, you will still not be able to actually experience the phenomenon. And therefore you will be operating behind the barrier of belief. If the truth is what you are after, you must disbelieve in order to find it.

Nice post Jadespear!

I can relate to your opinion in a number of ways so thought I'd share.

I was raised by an athiest and an agnostic. The athiest was virulently evangelistic about what a load of f#$ng BS all this stuff about God is.

So, for me being a gentle little fellow, I could only see it as ? and was on the fence, so saw myself as agnostic.

A few years ago I had an experience doing Time Line Therapy (which I've just posted a description of http://thetaobums.com/topic/35840-time-line-meditation-tlm/) that gave me a confirmation that God "exists".

Now, having affirmed much with TLT, by that stage ie I've cleared things from the womb and confirmed them with my mother to be true, to her abashed amazement.

Then a few years ago I cleared something that took me way, way back to what was explained to me (By Source) as viewing the "first born of Source".

My time line sessions have never been quite so astounding as that one was.

I saw Source. He was a he, and this was not a projection from my own belief, as I didn't believe "him" to be the way I saw it.

I said, but Source would not have form like you right? He explained to me that he was "Source", but that in truth Source was formless - that this enormous being was the representation of Source created for humanity to communicate with.

He was enormous, like a star cluster - and the landscape was pastel colours and nebular.

Source had no face, but had a body and head just like the references from the sistine chapel and other depictions. He showed me that Michelangelo could see him, and could time travel and that's how he got the visions of what he painted.

He also showed me that he was not the only God like him, and there were countless others overseeing countless universes.

People will say whatever they want about this, but it's the real deal.

The actual God/Tao/Source is pure awareness - and has no form - but there is a form used (and others taken on as needed) when source visits gifted individuals.

IMO Source created the physical universe as a means to experience.

In spirit there is formlessness, and no experience of self - it just is.

Source created in order that we may accept the illusion and be in it but not of it for the sake of experiencing and knowing thyself.

But, you'd have to see it yourself to believe me - I would to!

Lord who?

Lord Jesus !

He wears boots :D

Always thought he wore sandals !!!

Who is this sassy Mis Info :P

Just for the record my current view is Jesus is a fictional character.

Other thoughts on Jesus is he is the Sun(of g_d).

12 disciples = 12 Houses of the Zodiac.

Holy Trinity - Sun, Moon and Earth.

Definition of Belief: An acceptance that something exists or is true, especially one without proof.

Jesus is a fictional character, but what about the real guy that lived behind the story?

He wasnt the LAMB of god but a scapeGOAT of whatever powers that had been. (Rome, much?)

and with a hop, skip, and jump into the present day, it seems the SAME Powers that WERE still ARE. though waning. (i hope?)

The guy himself, however, probably DID say some spectacularaly righteous-freedom-Free-Will-truth-unity stuff, just to wind up pissing off those powerful "leaders" and been made example of. AS ARE all People of Significant Strangeness who speak out loudly and often enough! (how many times have i been banned now?)

All is never what it seems.

Lambs are we all, goats are we made when Wolves tend the flock.

They are still there because we put them there.

Waning? Yes, but 700-1300 years until i_ching_02_kun.jpg from where I'm standing now...(and I've confirmed/validated those time frames with an Oracle.)

They only make examples of those that gain enough following to be a concern (for now).

But, the control mechanism is not the "entity" driving that - it's the flock itself.

How else to sleep and stay sleeping unless you enlist the part of yourself capable of and desiring to control. Then emit a victim consciousness to seal the lid and we all bark down any seer that speaks higher truth.

And A Meadow Lark Sang

"The child whispered, 'God, speak to me'
And a meadow lark sang.
The child did not hear.

So the child yelled, 'God, speak to me!'
And the thunder rolled across the sky
But the child did not listen.

The child looked around and said,
'God let me see you' and a star shone brightly
But the child did not notice.

And the child shouted,
'God show me a miracle!'
And a life was born but the child did not know.

So the child cried out in despair,
'Touch me God, and let me know you are here!'
Whereupon God reached down
And touched the child.

But the child brushed the butterfly away
And walked away unknowingly."

Until I realized that you can't have one without the other. Of course ditching my Christian roots my pendulum swung wide to the other side of much debauchery.

Eventually, after reading the Tao Te Ching, I began not accepting something just because I am told it or because a lot of people I care about believe it. TTC gave me a lot of food for thought on what real love is, and how it seems indifferent at times, its something I am still allowing to grow, really trying not to get in my own way, as most zealous religious people (which I once was) do.
