Good/Evil abstracted from?

Recommended Posts

When beauty is abstracted
Then ugliness has been implied;
When good is abstracted
Then evil has been implied.

So alive and dead are abstracted from nature,
Difficult and easy abstracted from progress,
Long and short abstracted from contrast,
High and low abstracted from depth,
Song and speech abstracted from melody,
After and before abstracted from sequence.

The sage experiences without abstraction,
And accomplishes without action;
He accepts the ebb and flow of things,
Nurtures them, but does not own them,
And lives, but does not dwell.

Where is good and evil abstracted from? Being?

We are in heaven

We are in hell

We are good

We are evil

We are

Theyre abstracted from the ultimate question , what do I do now ( or dont do) .

Since instinct isnt sufficient and the world is in flux.

...

All is Abstracted from the Contents of MInd Indivisible.

Weal and woe are inseparable.

Yet I am no bringer of woe.

Well Im glad Im not the only one that understands the whole world is burning ( exists as differentiation and change and its our ineptitude at being in harmony with that which IS , which brings us emotional pain) :)

There is no reason why we do and why we don't.

We just stand up and do some good things that we think it should be.

That's all we do as long as we are a human be.

Because It's enough for us to be a human and a good one.

I think these two quotes go well together. There's really no evil. Just an inability to harmonize with someone elses good, and then it is experienced as "evil" but it's not really intended as evil in the first place. Everyone does what he/she thinks feels better.

There will always be good and evil as long as man places his subjective judgements on things and actions.

The abstract = is the glass half full or half empty

the reality is- if thirsty drink.

Which would mean that you became bad as you drank the water.

IMO the reality is that there is water in the glass,

but the idea that there are halves is erroneous , (because that requires an imaginary 'whole' to say one doesnt have.)

I like to think of the word conceptualize rather than abstract, although both work.

We abstract/conceptualize from our life experience.

That life experience is an amalgamation of our 5 sensory inputs and thought process.

The sage IS life, there is no separation, therefore no discrimination or judgement.

The average person feels separate, establishes and lives life as a self, then discrimination and judgement come into the picture.

My favorite line in the verse is -

"So alive and dead are abstracted from nature."

This is the line that speaks to me of the deepest things - the very nature of our perception and experience of life and death.

Edit - typo correction

I kinda agree.

When you just go with the flow, you don't judge evil anymore, you just go with the flow and allow the experience to be that will be, knowing that there will be an experience that is free from all judgement. Even if one single human being writes on a piece of paper that today he swears the moon is telling him that a spaghetti monsters will judge him if he does not turn around three times and rub his nose while standing on one foot and doom all who do not the same.

I wish I had as much confidence in love as you do. We have lived different lives, I am sure.

And speaking of smell:

I shop often at my local Pep Boys and one young lady who works there always gives me a hug when I enter the store. She also tells me when I stink. Hehehe. Normally I go there as a last run for my work day and, yes, I do stink after I have been working a few hours, especially when it was in the gardens or doing some other heavy duty physical labor.

Anyhow, while I was in the store a young lady who used to work in that store but is now working at a different one came in and I got a hug from her too. Then, the other lady who works in that store came out from behind the counter and I said, "We have never given each other a hug." and she walked up to me and we hugged. And then, as I was leaving I got another hug from the other two.

This is the way life should be. There is no reason for evil if we all were properly giving.
