"God" the always present landlord?

Recommended Posts

Now that Tolkien is being brought in this answers the op's question. Going by Iluvatar's counterpoints to Melkor's harmonic dissonances in The Music of the Ainur, then yes there is an ever present landlord.

Heck! your not telling me you actually read the Silmarilion? That's impressive.

I'm well informed but not that well read! Have read that chapter from the Ainulindale and other selected chapters, but not from cover to cover. I've followed the path of least resistance and read the 'executive summary' of Tolkien in The Magical World of the Inklings.

"Though all to ruin fell the world

And were dissolved and backward hurled,

Unmade into the old abyss,

Yet were its making good, for this

The dusk, the dawn, the earth, the sea

That Luthien for a time should be."

A Elbereth Gilthoniel

Men echenim sí derthiel

Ne chaered hen nu ‘aladhath

Ngilith or annún-aearath.

O Elbereth Gilthoniel!

We still remember, we who dwell

In this far land beneath the trees,

Thy starlight on the Western Seas.

An Elf walks into a bar orders a drink and swigs it down with one gulp, then falls on the floor laughing. A Dwarf goes up him and says "Are you Legolas?"

"Legolas? You must be joking I've only just started."

I suspect more than a few of us have, actually.

More than 30 years ago, I'm sorry to say.

Who's going to mow the lawn and water the flowers?

Why the animals will nibble it down to a nice croquet level of course  . Water the flowers? Well, there is elephant and mammoth They can hose with their trunks.

Me? I'll be doing 'something strange' behind that tiger..
